For someone who has never visited Norway, and when they arrive in Norway, they have this illusion you describe, only to find most Norwegian's are reserved, rude and ignorant and don't like to speak Norwegian, forgetting that no one else in the world speaks Norwegian. When you're here, you're on your own. They don't give helpful advice, etc and will still speak Norwegian when you politely tell them "sorry, I don't speak Norwegian". Enjoy the illusion folks
