Norway is a large country with a relatively small population. The challenge is to maintain a culture that Norway has enjoyed for hundreds of years. Protection of its language is important as the language continues to evolve. The way Norway protects its culture is by having strong standards and expectations of new citizens. I was born in Norway to two American citizens on their honeymoon. They were both born to Norwegian immigrants. My DNA is 99.9% Northern Norway ancestry. I would love to claim My Norwegian citizenship having been born there and spend a great deal of time there, but I am also a grateful American. Protecting Norway’s culture while encouraging managed growth is essential for the future. Strong laws can accomplish both.
