After a recent survey by The Local showed the difficulties foreigners in Norway face while waiting for answers from immigration authorities, we asked UDI for the hard numbers. How many cases are still open, and how long have people been waiting?

Passport renewals are also taking a long time to book in. I have kids for which a passport must be renewed every 2/3 years. They expire in June, so today (in May) I booked an appointment and got one available in mid August! 3 months waiting for just a passport renewal. I believe once you have a passport you should be able to renew online. In the UK passport renewals are every 10 years regardless of whether you're a child or adult. It's also done online. Again in this day and age we still have to visit in person for a renewal....
