Top story on Tuesday: Staff shortages cause long queues at Oslo Airport
Travellers at Oslo Airport faced long security lines on Monday, with waiting times reaching up to 40 minutes. Although queues cleared by 8 pm, airport operator Avinor warned delays may persist in the coming days due to staffing issues.
"We expect longer wait times during peak periods on Tuesday as well," Helene W. Jensen of Avinor told the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK).
The delays stem from a shortage of security staff caused by high sickness absence and ongoing training of new personnel for summer traffic.
Avarn, the company responsible for security, is working to boost staffing, but quick fixes are limited.
Avinor urged passengers to arrive early and follow airline check-in guidelines.

Wolf numbers down, but other predators on the rise in Norway
Norway's wolf population is shrinking, while bear, lynx, and wolverine numbers are increasing, according to new data from Rovdata, a Norwegian organisation responsible for operating and communicating the Norwegian Large Predator Monitoring Program.
Only 4.5 wolf litters were recorded this winter – within the target range of 4 to 6 – but down from previous years.
Meanwhile, the bear population reached a record 191 individuals in 2023, and wolverine and lynx numbers also exceeded national targets.
Wolverines had 61 litters, well above the target of 39, and lynx saw their highest count in 14 years, with 78 family groups registered.
