IN PICTURES: Norway's beaches freeze as temperatures plummet

Frozen beaches might not be what you'd expect from the summer tourist destination of Kristiansand. However, a cold and snowy week has created a miniature "winter wonderland" in the south of Norway.
Hundreds of thousands of tourists visit Kristiansand in the south of Norway each year.
Along with great beaches, the city is also home to the Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park, one of Norway's most-visited attractions.
However, the recent cold snap has led to the beaches freezing over even in this summer tourist hotspot nicknamed the "Capital of the Norwegian Riviera."
