So far on Monday, Norwegian flights to and from Heathrow and Gatwick airports are operating as usual. Airports near London are still struggling with the snowy weather, however.

Snow and fog in London led to the runway at Gatwick being closed at 6 pm local time on Sunday. Ten Norwegian departures and four SAS departures from Gatwick were cancelled.

"In the last 24 hours, due to the weather in London, we have also cancelled five flights to London Gatwick. Five flights were diverted to other airports," Norwegian's press officer Anna-Lena Nordling wrote in an email to the news bureau NTB.

Most people who had their flights cancelled on Sunday have been rebooked for flights on Monday, but a few will have to wait until Tuesday.

"Fortunately, it looks better today. We have already landed three planes in London, with the fourth on its way in now," Nordling told NTB at 10.25 am.

Norwegian operators report no cancellations on Monday

SAS had four flights to and from London that were cancelled on Sunday: one to Oslo, two to Stockholm and one to Copenhagen.

"Now, in the morning hours, there are currently no cancellations as a result of the weather situation in Great Britain, but we are watching the situation closely.

"The passengers who were affected on Sunday have all been rebooked to the nearest alternative flights," the press manager for SAS in Norway, Tonje Sund, said.

The airlines pointed out that weather similar to Sunday's is expected on Monday.

Anyone flying to the UK is asked to check airline websites and apps to ensure their flight is on schedule. Those who may be affected by cancellations will be contacted.

Stansted remains closed - Ryanair's offer affected

Stansted Airport has cancelled all flights on Monday, meaning that Ryanair's flights from London to Oslo are also affected.

According to data available on Flightradar 24, Ryanair's UK flight RK1394 from London Stansted to Oslo has been cancelled.

British media report that more than 50 flights were cancelled at Heathrow on Sunday.

This meant that, among other things, Norwegian planes that were already in the air had to turn around and either fly back or land elsewhere in England.

Several flights from Norway to London were also cancelled.
