On Friday, the World Cup 2022 group stages will end, with a mixture of dark horses, feel-good underdogs and traditional powerhouses of football progressing to the knockout rounds.

So whether you are a neutral wanting to keep an eye out for an emerging star or surprise package, or you'll be cheering on your home country from overseas, you'll probably want to know how to watch at least some or all of the knockout games on TV.

TV broadcast coverage of the tournament, whose host nation has been condemned for human rights abuses, will be split across two broadcasters in Norway.

Unfortunately, games will be split between commercial TV 2 and free-to-air NRK. Each broadcaster has the right to show 32 games. Packages for TV 2 begin from 139 kroner a month and go up to 399 kroner for full access.

While the group stages were divided up fairly equally between the two broadcasters, the broadcasting schedule will be mixed up somewhat for the knockout rounds. TV 2 will broadcast all semi-final games, while NRK will broadcast the final and third-place play-off games. You can get the full schedule for the tournament here. While the information is in Norway, you'll be able to see which broadcaster shows which game.
