Dear Norwegian Government,
We are writing on behalf of every member in the facebook group “Oss med familie eller kjæreste I utlandet under Covid 19” wanting to share our disappointment and sadness while longing to be with the people we call our family, in these hard pandemic times.
We feel unfairly treated by the Norwegian government by being separated from our life partners. Family is not only about blood lines, or people who have official documents. There are a lot of couples who are together for many years but are not married (yet). This is about the ones we love with our body and soul.
We do understand that the Norwegian government has to follow the timeline's coordination from Brussels. And we understand that the government also has privileges to create their own policies which are the best for the country. But please consider humanity.
Please give this group an equal chance to see their ‘kjærester’ just like the exceptions made for spouses and workers from other countries.
This is a small group of people that is willing to go into quarantine for 14 days and do a corona virus test at their own expense.
These people are no threat to the economy nor to further spreading of the disease. These things can be easily regulated and as members of this group we assure you that we wouldn’t mind showing proof for our relationships, for example pictures, love letters and addresses of our boyfriends/girlfriends.
Please consider us in your policies. It is heartbreaking and mentally destroying not being able to see your loved one and not being able to know when you are going to see them again. In the meantime, we appreciate the fact that you are doing everything to keep the infection under control and keep its citizens as safe as possible. In addition, we expect to be heard and understood.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Oss med familie eller kjæreste i utlandet under Covid-19 2020”
