Oslo woman 'cut up frozen mother with a saw'
A 62-year-old woman in Oslo has been charged for leaving the body of mother outside until it was frozen solid and then attempting to saw her legs off.
The macabre event took place in 2011, when a neighbour called the police after spotting the then 58-year-old woman attempting to saw through the frozen corpse in her garden at about 1pm in the afternoon.
“Because of the injuries on the deceased woman, the woman’s daughter was taken in for questioning," police inspector Hanne Kristin Rohde said at a press conference according to Norway's Aftenposten newspaper. "A forensic examiner has investigated the woman and says that the injuries have likely been sustained after the woman’s death."
According to Rohde, the accused woman has claimed that she desecrated the body to honour her 86-year-old mother’s dying wish to be buried in her own garden.
