Queen Sonja of Norway is set for her first official trip to the Faroe Islands in July.

The royal visit takes place on July 19th. She will be received by the state minister of the Faroe Islands, Kaj Leo Johannesen, and she will stay in Tórshavn.

She is scheduled to visit the village of Kirkjubøur on the west coast of Streymoy island. It is there Norwegian King Sverre Sigurdsson grew up during the Viking age.

During her stay at Streymoy, an official lunch for the queen will be held.

The visit will culminate in Tórshavn where Queen Sonja will see the National Art Museum of the Faroe Islands.

The royal yacht “Norge” will be used to carry her throughout the visit..
