Caged dog found drowned in Norway
The carcass of a dog, which had been locked into a carry basket, and then wrapped in tape and rope, has washed up on the shoreline of northern Norway.
Hjalmar Johansen, a 50-year-old carpenter from Øksnes, south of Tromsø in northern Norway, reported the discovery to the police on Monday, after his partner stumbled upon the basket during walk along the shore. "It was a gruesome sight. The dog was a little worm-eaten at the muzzle, and showed signs of having been under water for a while. But hardly more than a week," Johansen old Norway's NRK channel. "Who would do such a thing? It's tragic." Johansen has contacted the police who are now trying to identify the dog's owner.
