Russian president Vladimir Putin has praised Jens Stoltenberg, the incoming head of Nato, as "a very serious, responsible person", claiming the two have "very good relations, including personal relations".
Putin gave his support to Stoltenberg, who until last year was Norway's prime minister, during an appearance on News on Saturday, one of Russia's leading current affairs programmes.

The ambassadors of Nato's 28 member states voted unanimously on Friday to appoint Stoltenberg to the post. He will take office on October 1st 2014.
