Three boys arrested for taping girl to railing
Police have arrested three out-of-contol Norwegian high-school students after they taped a 17-year-old girl to a railing in a park in Sandnes, south of Bergen, and pelted her with eggs and flour.
The boys were on a rampage through town as part of the traditional Russefeiring, or Russ Celebration, which Norwegian high school students traditionally mount in their final spring term from May 1 until May 17. "We are taking this very seriously," said Kurt Løklingholm, from the local Rogaland Police District. "Whether we are talking about Russ or not." The girl, who had apparently never met the three boys before, was rescued by a witness, who then spent ten minutes cutting her free before calling the police with a description of the brightly decorated 'Russ car' in which he saw the boys departing the scene. Police later apprehended the boys in the vehicle.
