Pussy Riot coming to Norway for Lit Fest
Two of the leading figures from Russian feminist punk band Pussy Riot are coming to speak at the Norwegian Literature Festival in Lillehammer in May.
Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Aljokhina, were both jailed in 2013 for their role in the Punk Prayer incident, when they scandalized many religious Russians by playing a guerrilla gig in Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral. They were pardoned last year as part of Russia's amnesty bill. The two will be interviewed during the festival before moving on to Bergen for the Bergen International Festival, where a documentary on Pussy Riot, "Pussy vs Putin", is being shown.
