Elon Musk in Norway to thank Tesla buyers

US tech billionaire Elon Musk is in Norway to say thank you to the 2,100 people in the country who bought one of his Tesla S electric sports cars, making it the vehicle's second biggest market after the United States.
The PayPal founder on Friday night held a dinner at The Thief, a luxury Oslo hotel, inviting local dignitaries such as Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Yngve Slyngstad, the manager of Norway's oil fund, property millionaire Christian Ringnes and On Saturday he is holding a meeting at the Folketeateret in central Oslo, where he plans to answer questions from the country's Tesla owners. "There have been some small problems here, but mostly it's been good," he told VG as he arrived, referring to the problems some Tesla owners have had as a result of the cold. The Tesla Model S was the top selling new car in Norway in both September and December, and some 2,100 cars have been sold to date, compared to more than 20,000 in the US, Tesla's biggest market. Generous government incentives make owning an electric car extremely attractive in Norway.
