The Hollywood actress Claire Danes is to host the Nobel Peace Prize awards this December, taking over from Sarah Jessica Parker and Gerard Butler, who hosted the event last year.
The star of Homeland and Romeo and Juliet will compere the main ceremony awarding the prize to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) who won earlier this month.

The chemical watchdog arrived in Syria to begin overseeing the dismantling of President Bashar Assad's chemical arsenal only days before it received the award.
