Norwegian Airlines has had to apologise after its in-flight magazine carried an advertisement for a clinic linking infertile couples with egg donors, a practice which is banned in Norway.
"We apologize for this," Stine Steffensen Børke, the country's marketing director, told NTB newswire. "Anything which it is not permitted to advertise in Norway is outside our guidelines.

The full page advertisement in the magazine 'N by Norwegian' was placed by a fertility clinic in Greece trying to attract Scandinavian clients.
Egg donation is legal in all of the other Nordic countries to which Norwegian flies, such as Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
