The investigation follows claims by Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg that opposition parties have deliberately exaggerated problems with care of elderly people in the country.

The channel cited complaints these ombudsmen had received from the families of patients, which included: "An elderly person being asked to pee in their incontinent pants", "irresponsible treatment", and "unlawful use of force".
