Majority of Norway politicians favour beggar ban

Six out of ten Norwegian politicians favour introducing a ban on begging in cities, a poll carried out by news agency ANB has revealed, showing that rhetoric aimed at Roma immigrants is starting to have an impact.
Support for a ban was especially high in Oslo, Akershus and Vestfold, and was near universal among centre-Right politicians. A remarkable 96 percent of the Progress Party and 85 percent of Conservative Party's politicians support a ban. Socialist Party politicians were overwhelmingly against, while the Labour party was split on the issue.
