Helgeland police found a body on the Nordland line tracks on Monday morning, with officers set to look into whether the death was accidental. A second fatal accident took place near Lillehammar, with police set to rule it a suicide.

A person died after being hit by the train early on Monday morning, local law enforcers told the Avisa Nordland newspaper.

"The collision happened at Holandsvika, north of Mosjøen, where we found a person who had died on the tracks," said police spokesman Egil Pettersen.

Police were called to the scene at 5:17am, and are set to investigate the death further. Train traffic was up and running again by 7am.

Also on Monday morning, police were called to the scene of what is believed to have been a suicide. The person was hit and killed by an incoming train in Lillehammer.
