With eyes beyond Norwegian shores wide open after she tweeted a picture of an ice pack shoved into her lace underwear, Norwegian footballer Elise Thorsnes says that, despite the abdominal injury, she is ready for the Euro 2013 championship in neighbouring Sweden.

"During the European Cup I won't give a damn about the injury, I want to play as much as I can," striker Elise Thorsnes told the NRK network on Wednesday.

"The worst that can happen is that I have to have an operation afterwards."

Thorsnes admitted that she has feels pain every time she plays, since injuring her lower abdominal area. She has dubbed the situation "super annoying".

Her coach Even Pellerud has, despite the injury, decided to include Thorsnes in the national team, as the Euro 2013 kicks off in Sweden on Wednesday. Pellerud's plan, however, is to use the player as a sort of "super sub".

"We chose to include Elise despite the injury, and despite the fact that she hasn't been able to train a lot, because of the quality of her attacks," Pellerud told NRK.
