The nephew of Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, a fan of US superstar statistician Nate Silver, has come to the "unhappy" conclusion that his uncle will lose the next elections.

Emil Aas Stoltenberg, despite being sympathetic to his uncle's ruling red-green alliance, has predicted that the right-wing opposition will pry power from Stoltenberg in upcoming elections.

"I hope I'm wrong!" the younger Stoltenberg told the NRK network on Monday. "But if I were to bet money on the elections, I'd put my money on the blue side."

In his master's degree final thesis, Stoltenberg used opinion polls, observations from previous Norwegian elections, as well as current economic data.

His final prediction was a 77.5 percent likelihood that the opposition will show his Labour Party uncle the door once the final votes are counted. Elections are scheduled for September 9th. Stoltenberg is a self-professed fan of US statistician Nate Silver, who operates the FiveThirtyEight political blog for the New York Times.

"We won't know if I am Norway's Nate Silver until election day," Stoltenberg said.
