Some 1.9 million passengers travelled with Norwegian Airlines in June, a 21-percent increase from last year.

The airline added almost 330,000 passengers from one year to the next.

The carrier also improved its cabin-factor rating, which tallies the number of seats sold per flight.

"We are very happy that we are filling our flights," Administrative Director Bjørn Kjos said in a statement.

The cabin factor in June was 79.6 percent, a 2.7 percentage point increase from the same period last year.
