Temperature sinks to new winter low

The coldest weather of the winter so far was recorded on Friday in Folldal, eastern Norway, where temperatures dropped to a brisk -37.2 degrees Celsius.
Other parts of northern Hedmark country also felt a distinct chill, while residents of South Trøndelag country shivered in unison.
Six locations saw the mercury slump to below -30 degrees over the course of Thursday night and Friday morning, newspaper Adresseavisen reports.
Drevsjø dwellers felt a distinct nip in the air as thermometers showed -36.6, while Rena airport hit -34.1 and Evenstad fell to -33.4 degrees.
In South Trøndelag, Røros fended off local opposition with -32.1 degrees, while Kautokeino witnessed a relatively balmy -28.3 degrees.
