A man in his fifties was stabbed to death and two other men were injured in an apartment in Oslo on Thursday afternoon.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the stabbings at an address in the city's Sinsen district.

"We've deployed a police helicopter, patrols and police dogs in the hunt for one or more perpetrators," police investigator Tor Guldbradsen told news agency NTB.

Police were alerted to the attacks at 2.40pm on Thursday.

"We're currently gathering information at the scene," said police spokesman Ole-Petter Jacobsen.
