A wedding party, held in Skedsmo city-centre, Romerike on Sunday evening, saw two men stabbed with a samurai sword.

Police chief Jon Andorsen confirmed the use of the Japanese-style weapon and confirmed to Romerikes Blad: “There was a celebration, a wedding party, that ended up in a fight. In connection to this, stabbings occurred.”

Police believe more than one attacker is involved and have not yet charged anyone in connection with the crime.

“We have a description of them, but we have not caught them yet,” said Andorsen, whose team received an emergency call at 11.40pm on Sunday about the incident.

The two men who were stabbed are in their thirties. Only one of them was taken to hospital.

Andorsen said: “[The injured man] ended up on hospital after having his arm slashed. The other one was just scratched and received medical attention on site.”

Police are following enquiries on Monday to try and catch the sword attackers.
