More than 35,000 children are expected to suffer from the government's latest budget cuts, Norway's benefits agency, Nav, warned on Tuesday.

21,660 parents and 35,645 children will be worse off if the proposition of cutting child support to disabled families becomes realised, according to figures from Nav.

In her budget proposal for 2015 announced last week, Minister of Finance, Siv Jensen stated the Norwegian government wants to cut the child support to disabled parents by 7,020 kroner ($1,080) per child per year.

Secretary general of the Norwegian Federation of Organisations of Disabled People (Funksjonshemmedes fellesorganisasjon), Liv Arum, believes that the budget cut will create more poor families with children in Norway.
