Music lover Crown Prince Haakon was invited to play guitar with a local band as part of a Royal trip to Nordland.

Frozen Fire asked the Crown Prince to join them in a rendition of the rock classic “Smoke on the water”, originally by Deep Purple.

His wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, who was in the audience, was less enthusiastic and was seen putting her fingers in her ears.

The event took place on the last day of the Royal couple’s tour to Nordland county.

Despite the wet weather, many locals turned out to welcome the Crown Prince and his wife. Vestvågøy mayor Jonny Finstad defied a neck injury in addition to the weather to welcome the special guests.

Following the welcoming ceremony as well as entertainment, the Royal couple went to the Meieriet Culture Centre in Leknes. There, Crown Prince Haakon signed a guitar and listened to the youths of Frozen Fire play, before joining them on stage.
